Lord Shiva

Tattva Level: pati

Shiva Form: Sadāśiva

Sthala Purana: The verse situates Śiva’s compassionate self-manifestation (avatāra-like descent) within a future parivarta to uphold dharma and guide beings; it is a cosmic-cycle framing rather than a specific shrine origin.

Significance: Contemplation of Śiva as the transcendent Lord who nevertheless ‘becomes’ accessible in time for the protection of order and the uplift of devotees.

Role: liberating

Cosmic Event: parivarta (cyclical turn of cosmic time); role-changes of cosmic offices (Vyāsa/Indra) within a future cycle

FAQs

It teaches that Shiva, the supreme Pati, freely assumes appropriate forms in different cycles of time to sustain dharma and guide beings toward liberation through grace.

By declaring future manifestation with a specific name, the verse supports Saguna worship—approaching Shiva through knowable forms—while implying that the same all-pervading Lord remains one reality behind every form, including the Linga.

Contemplate Shiva as Vibhu (all-pervading) while worshiping a chosen Saguna form—especially through japa of the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to align one’s life with dharma across changing times.
