hataṃ taṃ gṛhamānīya jñātvā govatsamaṃganā | bhītā śivaśivetyāha kenacitpuṇyakarmaṇā
子牛のように柔らかなその女は彼を家へ連れ帰り、彼が殺されていると知るや恐怖に震え、かつて積んだ功徳の力によって「シヴァよ、シヴァよ!」と叫んだ。
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: Implies nāma-smaraṇa: even an accidental cry of ‘Śiva’ arising from fear can become the doorway for grace and mitigation of pāpa.
Mantra: शिव शिव
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
It highlights Śiva-smaraṇa (remembrance of Shiva) arising even spontaneously in fear, supported by past puṇya; such turning of consciousness toward Pati (Shiva) is portrayed as spiritually purifying and grace-invoking.
Calling out “Śiva! Śiva!” reflects direct devotion to Saguna Shiva; in Kotirudrasaṃhitā this devotion is aligned with Jyotirliṅga-centered faith, where the Lord responds to sincere remembrance and surrender.
Practice nāma-japa of Shiva—especially the Panchākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—so remembrance becomes natural in all states; daily japa with bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa supports steadiness of Shiva-smaraṇa.
