पितोवाच । मया तु गम्यते पुत्र कार्यार्थं कुत्रचित्पुनः । धेनुर्दोह्या त्वया वत्स सावधानादियं निजा
pitovāca | mayā tu gamyate putra kāryārthaṃ kutracitpunaḥ | dhenurdohyā tvayā vatsa sāvadhānādiyaṃ nijā
父は言った。「わが子よ、用事のためにまたどこかへ行かねばならぬ。愛しい子よ、注意深くこの牝牛を搾りなさい—これは我らの牛である。」

It emphasizes dharma through attentive responsibility: even ordinary duties, done carefully and truthfully, purify the mind and prepare the devotee for Shiva-bhakti and higher understanding.
In Shaiva practice, devotion is not only ritual but also disciplined living; careful stewardship of what is entrusted to us supports inner purity (śuddhi), which strengthens one’s capacity for Saguna Shiva worship and reverence for sacred pilgrimage traditions.
The takeaway is mindful seva (attentive service). As a complementary practice, one may mentally repeat the Panchakshara—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—while performing duties carefully, cultivating steadiness and purity.
