दशशैवव्रतप्रश्नः — Inquiry into the Ten Principal Śaiva Vratas
व्रतस्य करणान्नूनं शिवोऽहं सर्वदुःखहा । दद्मि भुक्तिं च मुक्तिं च सर्वं वै वाञ्छितं फलम्
vratasya karaṇānnūnaṃ śivo'haṃ sarvaduḥkhahā | dadmi bhuktiṃ ca muktiṃ ca sarvaṃ vai vāñchitaṃ phalam
この誓戒を行ずることにより、我—一切の苦を滅するシヴァ—は、必ずやブクティ(世の享受)とムクティ(解脱)とを授け、さらに望むあらゆる果報を与える。
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Significance: Affirms Śiva as the direct bestower of both bhukti (abhyudaya) and mukti (niḥśreyasa) through vrata; supports the Śaiva Siddhānta emphasis on anugraha as the decisive cause of liberation.
It presents Shiva as the compassionate Pati who removes suffering and grants both dharmic prosperity (bhukti) and final release (mukti) to devotees who faithfully complete the prescribed vow.
In the Kotirudrasaṃhitā’s Jyotirliṅga context, Shiva speaks as Saguna—personally accessible through liṅga-worship and vrata—assuring tangible fruits and ultimately moksha through devoted observance.
The key instruction is vrata-anuṣṭhāna (observing the vow) with steady Shiva-bhakti—typically supported by liṅga-pūjā and japa of Shiva’s names/mantras as part of the vow’s discipline.
