दशशैवव्रतप्रश्नः — Inquiry into the Ten Principal Śaiva Vratas
पंचद्रव्यैश्च प्रथमं पूजनीयो हरस्सदा । तस्य तस्य च मन्त्रेण पृथग्द्रव्यं समर्पयेत्
paṃcadravyaiśca prathamaṃ pūjanīyo harassadā | tasya tasya ca mantreṇa pṛthagdravyaṃ samarpayet
ハラ(主シヴァ)は常にまず五つの供物によって礼拝されるべきである。さらに、それぞれに応じた真言をもって、各供物を別々に捧げよ。
Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva-puja procedure to the sages, consistent with Purāṇic discourse style in the Koṭirudrasaṃhitā)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Emphasizes correct upacāra-krama: offering pañcadravya with respective mantras is presented as a purifier of worship and a concentrator of devotion, aligning ritual exactness with inner surrender.
Offering: naivedya
It teaches disciplined, mantra-guided worship: devotion is made precise by offering sacred substances in an ordered way, honoring Śiva as Pati (the Lord) who grants purity and liberation when worship is done with right intent and method.
The verse supports Saguna upāsanā—worship of Śiva approached through form (such as the Liṅga) using tangible offerings. Each item is sanctified by its own mantra, aligning external ritual with inner reverence.
Perform pañcadravya-pūjā by offering five prescribed substances one-by-one, each accompanied by its appropriate mantra—turning the sequence into a focused japa-like meditation through ritual action.
