Viṣṇoḥ Sahasranāma-stotreṇa Śiva-prasādaḥ
Vishnu’s Thousand-Name Hymn and Shiva’s Grace
तस्मादवतताराशु मण्डलात्पार्थिवस्य च । प्रतिष्ठितस्य हरिणा स्वलिंगस्य महेश्वरः
tasmādavatatārāśu maṇḍalātpārthivasya ca | pratiṣṭhitasya hariṇā svaliṃgasya maheśvaraḥ
「ゆえに、マハーデーヴァ—マヘーシュヴァラ—は、その土の聖なる曼荼羅より速やかに降臨し、ハリ(ヴィシュヌ)によって正しく安置された自らのリンガに恩寵を垂れたまうた。」
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga episode; the verse narrates Śiva’s immediate manifestation to bless His liṅga that Viṣṇu has ritually established within an earthen maṇḍala (pārthiva-liṅga context).
Significance: Establishes the paradigm that sincere liṅga-pratiṣṭhā and bhakti draw down Śiva’s anugraha (grace) swiftly, even without a fixed kṣetra.
It shows Śiva as the responsive Pati (Lord) who manifests swiftly when His Liṅga is established with devotion—affirming that divine grace becomes accessible through proper worship and consecration.
The verse portrays Śiva appearing to bless ‘His own Liṅga’ installed by Hari, emphasizing Saguna worship: the Liṅga is a sanctified focus through which the transcendent Śiva grants darśana and blessings.
Liṅga-pratiṣṭhā (consecration) and regular pūjā/abhisheka are implied; as a meditative support, one may worship the Liṅga while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
