Tattva Level: pashu
It signals a moral turning-point: suffering arises from censurable action (kutsita karma), and the listener is urged to receive the teaching with alertness so that future karma aligns with dharma and devotion to Pati (Shiva).
By emphasizing careful listening and ethical discernment, it prepares the devotee for proper śravaṇa of Shiva’s līlā and tīrtha-glories (including Jyotirlinga narratives), which in Shaiva practice supports disciplined Saguna worship leading toward inner purification.
The direct instruction is mindful śravaṇa (attentive listening). As a practical takeaway, one may listen/recite with ekāgratā and śraddhā, optionally preceded by Panchakshara japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") to steady the mind.
