गौतमविघ्नप्रकरणम्
Episode of Obstacles to Gautama; Gaṇeśa’s Appearing Through Misguided Worship
ताडितो भर्त्सितो दुष्टैर्गौतमो गिरमब्रवीत् । इतो गच्छामि मुनयो ह्यन्यत्र निवसाम्यहम्
tāḍito bhartsito duṣṭairgautamo giramabravīt | ito gacchāmi munayo hyanyatra nivasāmyaham
悪しき者どもに打たれ、激しく罵られた聖仙ガウタマはこう語った。「おお、ムニたちよ、我はこの地を去る。まことに、他の所に住まうであろう。」
Sage Gautama
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It highlights a Shaiva dharmic response to adharma: the sage does not retaliate, but withdraws from hostile company, preserving tapas and inner purity—qualities that support liberation under Pati (Shiva).
Though the verse is narrative, it supports the ethos of Saguna Shiva worship: maintaining sattva, humility, and restraint so the devotee’s mind becomes fit for Linga-upasana and grace (anugraha).
The implied practice is viveka and self-restraint: avoid harmful association, keep steady japa (e.g., Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and protect one’s sadhana rather than engaging in anger.
