ソーマ(インドゥ)の聖なる昂揚(マダ)によってインドラを祭儀へ招き、その力が祭主のもとに満ち入るよう願う。インドラが戦いに勝ち、敵対者・不戒の者やダシュを打ち砕き、戦車を駆って人の営みを推し進め、戦利と「千を得る」ほどの大いなる富を授けることを祈る。

मत्स्यपायि ते महः पात्रस्येव हरिवो मत्सरो मदः वृषा ते वृष्ण इन्दुर्वाजी सहस्रसातमः

ハリヴァトよ、汝の大いなる酔悦は、あたかも聖杯(pātra)より溢れ出づるがごとく、激しくほとばしる歓喜である。因度なるソーマ(indu)は、牡牛なるインドラ(vṛṣṇā)のために牡牛のごとく(vṛṣā)立ち、力を授ける者(vājī)、千の獲得において最も勝利する者(sahasrasātamaḥ)。

आ नस्ते गन्तु मत्सरो वृषा मदो वरेण्यः सहावां इन्द्र सानसिः पृतनषाडमर्त्यः

汝の酔いの衝動(matsara)が、われらに来たれ。力強く、選び取るべき歓喜(mado vareṇyaḥ)よ。インドラよ、汝は大いなる力を具え(sahāvān)、利得を授ける者(sānasiḥ)、戦陣を鎮める者(pṛtanaṣāḍ)、不死なる者(amartyaḥ)。
