ソーマ（インドゥ）の聖なる昂揚（マダ）によってインドラを祭儀へ招き、その力が祭主のもとに満ち入るよう願う。インドラが戦いに勝ち、敵対者・不戒の者やダシュを打ち砕き、戦車を駆って人の営みを推し進め、戦利と「千を得る」ほどの大いなる富を授けることを祈る。

मत्स्यपायि ते महः पात्रस्येव हरिवो मत्सरो मदः वृषा ते वृष्ण इन्दुर्वाजी सहस्रसातमः
ハリヴァトよ、汝の大いなる酔悦は、あたかも聖杯（pātra）より溢れ出づるがごとく、激しくほとばしる歓喜である。因度なるソーマ（indu）は、牡牛なるインドラ（vṛṣṇā）のために牡牛のごとく（vṛṣā）立ち、力を授ける者（vājī）、千の獲得において最も勝利する者（sahasrasātamaḥ）。

आ नस्ते गन्तु मत्सरो वृषा मदो वरेण्यः सहावां इन्द्र सानसिः पृतनषाडमर्त्यः
汝の酔いの衝動（matsara）が、われらに来たれ。力強く、選び取るべき歓喜（mado vareṇyaḥ）よ。インドラよ、汝は大いなる力を具え（sahāvān）、利得を授ける者（sānasiḥ）、戦陣を鎮める者（pṛtanaṣāḍ）、不死なる者（amartyaḥ）。

त्वं हि शूरः सनिता चोदयो मनुषो रथम् सहावान्दस्युमव्रतमोषः पात्रं न शोचिषा
汝こそ英雄（śūraḥ）、勝利を得る者（sanitā）。汝は人の戦車を駆り立てる。大いなる力を具え（sahāvān）、ダシュユ（dasyu）を奪い、誓いなき者（avratá）を剥ぐ者。汝は光輝（śociṣā）もて、器（pātra）のきらめきのごとく輝く。
