व्यसने वाऽर्थकृच्छ्रे वा भये वा जीवितान्तके।विमृशन्वै स्वया बुद्ध्या धृतिमान्नावसीदति।।
vyasane vā ’rthakṛcchre vā bhaye vā jīvitāntake | vimṛśan vai svayā buddhyā dhṛtimān nāvasīdati ||
災難にあっても、財の窮乏にあっても、恐れの中にあっても、命の尽き際にあってさえ――自らの बुद्धि(知恵)で省み、堅忍を具える者は、決して絶望に沈まない。
