संपाति
उपदेशः / Sampati Instructed and the Search Mission Foretold
पुराणे सुमहत्कार्यं भविष्यति मया श्रुतं।दृष्टं मे तपसा चैव श्रुत्वा च विदितं मम4.62.3।।
purāṇe sumahat kāryaṃ bhaviṣyati mayā śrutam | dṛṣṭaṃ me tapasā caiva śrutvā ca viditaṃ mama ||
古き伝承において、きわめて大いなる業が成就すると私は聞いた。さらに苦行の力によってそれをも見定めた。聞き及び、確かに我が知となった。
'(Carry on) the work not only for the princes (Rama and Lakshmana) but also for the brahmins, sages, gods and others who live here.
Dharma is linked with satya (truth): the seer grounds guidance in reliable sources—tradition (śruti/purāṇa) and realized insight (tapas)—so action aligns with truth, not speculation.
The sage explains that his knowledge is not casual; he has both heard authoritative tradition and directly perceived through austerity the coming of a great mission.
Truthfulness and epistemic discipline: speaking only what is known through valid means, not mere opinion.
