Sampāti’s Counsel and the Revelation of Laṅkā
तरुणी रूपसम्पन्ना सर्वाभरणभूषिता।ह्रियमाणा मया दृष्टा रावणेन दुरात्मना।।4.58.15।।क्रोशन्ती राम रामेति लक्ष्मणेति च भामिनी।भूषणान्यपविध्यन्ती गात्राणि च विधुन्वती।।4.58.16।।
krośantī rāma rām eti lakṣmaṇeti ca bhāminī |
bhūṣaṇāny apavidhyantī gātrāṇi ca vidhunvatī || 4.58.16 ||
「ラーマ、ラーマ!」そして「ラクシュマナ!」と叫びながら、その気高い女性は飾りを投げ捨て、四肢を震わせて苦悶のうちにもがいていた。
'Her fine silk garment was shining like the radiance of the Sun on the mountain peak, like lightning against the dark cloud. (That was Ravana).
Fidelity and truth in crisis: even under coercion, Sītā calls upon Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa, upholding loyalty and truth of relationship—an inner dharma amid external adharma.
Sampāti recounts the abducted woman’s cries and her dropping ornaments as distress-signs.
Steadfastness (dhairya) and marital fidelity: her mind remains anchored in Rāma despite terror.
