Svayamprabha’s Dialogue with the Vanaras
इदं प्रविष्टास्सहसा बिलं तिमिरसंवृतम्।एतन्नः कार्यमेतेन कृत्येन वयमागताः।।।।त्वां चैवोपगतास्सर्वे परिद्यूना बुभुक्षिताः।
idaṃ praviṣṭāḥ sahasā bilaṃ timirasaṃvṛtam | etan naḥ kāryam etena kṛtyena vayam āgatāḥ || tvāṃ caivopagatāḥ sarve paridyūnā bubhukṣitāḥ |
我らはたちまち、この闇に覆われた洞窟へと入り込んだ。まさにこの務めのために我らは来たのだ。そして皆そろって、疲れ果て飢えに苦しみつつ、あなたのもとへ辿り着いた。
'Vexed and starved, we entered this grotto shrouded in darkness.This is our task and we reached here (in the process).
Dharma is steadfastness in assigned work even under hardship, combined with satya—plainly stating their condition (hunger, exhaustion) without concealment.
The monkeys explain how, in the course of their mission, they entered a dark cave and eventually encountered Svayaṃprabhā in a weakened state.
Perseverance—continuing the task despite fear, darkness, and deprivation.
