Commissioning the Southern Search for Sītā
अमितबलपराक्रमा भवन्तोविपुलगुणेषु कुलेषु च प्रसूताः।मनुजपतिसुतां यथा लभध्वंतदधिगुणं पुरुषार्थमारभध्वम्।।।।
amita-bala-parākramā bhavanto vipula-guṇeṣu kuleṣu ca prasūtāḥ | manuja-pati-sutāṃ yathā labadhvaṃ tad-adhiguṇaṃ puruṣārtham ārabhadhvam ||
汝らは量り知れぬ力と武勇を備え、徳に富む家系に生まれた者たちである。ゆえに人の最高の務めに励め。いかなる手立てであれ王の娘(シーター)を見出し得るなら、その勝れた大業を成し遂げよ。
(Note:The Vindhya range and the several rivers mentioned here are not south of Kishkinda.The inconsistency is irreconcilable. Candidly speaking the geographical description is not at all factual. Some interpolator in the north (Kurukshetra as central region) has committed several anachronous inconsistencies betraying his ignorance of geography.)ইত্যার্ষে শ্রীমদ্রামাযণে বাল্মীকীয আদিকাব্যে কিষ্কিন্দাকাণ্ডে একচত্বারিংশস্সর্গঃ৷৷Thus ends the fortyfirst sarga in Kishkindakanda of the first epic, the Holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
Dharma is exhortation toward a meritorious purpose: strength and noble birth are to be used for righteous action—undertaking the highest ‘puruṣārtha’ here, the recovery of Sītā in service of truth and justice.
As the instructions conclude, Sugrīva praises the searchers’ capabilities and urges them to begin the mission wholeheartedly so that Sītā may be found.
Purposeful courage: channeling power into a morally elevated task rather than mere display of might.
