Lakshmana Enters Kishkindha: Anger, Tara’s Mediation, and Sugriva Encountered
तदेवं प्रस्तुते कार्ये कार्यमस्माभिरुत्तरम्।यत्कार्यं कार्यतत्त्वज्ञे तदुदाहर्तुमर्हसि।।।।
tad evaṃ prastute kārye kāryam asmābhir uttaram | yat kāryaṃ kāryatattvajñe tad udāhartum arhasi ||
この事が今まさに当面の務めであるゆえ、次に何をなすべきか我らに告げよ。義務の真実を知る汝こそ、正しき行いの道を示すにふさわしい。
'You have a strong sense of duty. You ought to tell him his duty and what we should do in this situation.
When duty is obstructed, one should seek wise counsel and act according to kārya-tattva (the true requirements of the situation), not impulse.
After confronting Sugrīva’s delay, Lakṣmaṇa turns to Tārā, asking her to propose the right next step to secure action without disorder.
Practical discernment and respect for wise advisers—Lakṣmaṇa channels anger into purposeful decision-making.
