Vali’s Funeral Rites and the Consolation of the Bereaved
अङ्गदस्त्वानयेन्माल्यं वस्त्राणि विविधानि च।घृतं तैलमथो गन्धान्यच्चात्र समनन्तरम्4.25.16।।
aṅgadas tv ānayed mālyaṃ vastrāṇi vividhāni ca |
ghṛtaṃ tailam atho gandhān yac cātra samanantaram || 4.25.16 ||
アンガダには花輪とさまざまな衣、さらにギーと油、香料、そしてここに必要なもの一切を、ただちに持って来させよ。
'Let Angada for his part collect garlands of many kinds, clothes, clarified butter, oil, fragrants and all that is required to be procured.
Dharma becomes collective responsibility: each person is assigned a role so that sacred duties are completed promptly and properly.
Lakṣmaṇa outlines the items to be gathered for Vāli’s last rites and assigns Aṅgada a concrete task.
Aṅgada’s seva-bhāva (spirit of service) and readiness to act despite grief.
