The Dundubhi Episode and the Proof of Rama’s Prowess
कामं राघव ते वाणी प्रमाणं धैर्यमाकृतिः।सूचयन्ति परं तेजो भस्मच्छन्नमिवानलम्4.11.81।।
kāmaṃ rāghava te vāṇī pramāṇaṃ dhairyam ākṛtiḥ |
sūcayanti paraṃ tejo bhasmacchannam ivānalam || 4.11.81 ||
まことに、ラ―ガヴァよ、汝の言葉、立ち居振る舞い、胆力、そしてその姿は、灰に覆われた火のごとき至上の威光を示している。
'Rama ! your word and your courage indicate your supreme strength which is like fire covered with ashes.'
True strength is disciplined and modest; dharmic power does not need display, and is recognized by steady conduct and truthful speech.
Sugriva, though still uncertain about battle proof, acknowledges signs of Rama’s greatness—comparing it to concealed fire.
