तीर-वर्णनम् / Rama’s Lament at Pampa and the Approach to Rishyamuka
स्वास्थ्यं भद्रं भजस्वार्य त्यज्यतां कृपणा मतिः।अर्थो हि नष्टकार्यार्थैर्नायत्नेनाधिगम्यते।।।।
svāsthyaṃ bhadraṃ bhajasvārya tyajyatāṃ kṛpaṇā matiḥ | artho hi naṣṭa-kāryārthair nāyatnenādhigamyate ||
高貴なる者よ、安らぎと健やかさに身を置き、この卑しき落胆を捨てよ。求める果は、ことに志が阻まれたとき、努力なくしては得られぬ。
'O noble prince! be blessed. maintain composure. Without making any effort it is not possible to achieve the objective and recoup loss.
Dharma is active, not passive: rightful ends (like restoring what is lost) require disciplined effort, not helpless despair.
Lakshmana urges Rama to replace grief with composure and purposeful striving in the mission to recover Sita.
Perseverance and responsibility—refusing to surrender to a ‘kṛpaṇā’ (pitiable) mindset.
