दिलीपः कुरुशार्दूल शास्त्रतत्त्वार्थदर्शनात् । वसिष्ठवचनाच्चैव पृथिवीमनुचक्रमे
dilīpaḥ kuruśārdūla śāstratattvārthadarśanāt | vasiṣṭhavacanāccaiva pṛthivīmanucakrame
クル族の虎よ、ディリーパは、シャーストラの真義と理を悟り、さらにヴァシシュタの教えに従って、大地を巡礼して巡った。
Narrator (Purāṇic narrator addressing the listener as 'kuruśārdūla')
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: tirtha
Sandhi Resolution Notes: śāstratattvārthadarśanāt = śāstra-tattva-artha-darśanāt; vasiṣṭhavacanāccaiva = vasiṣṭha-vacanāt + ca + eva; pṛthivīmanucakrame = pṛthivīm + anucakrame.
It presents ideal kingship: a ruler acts after understanding the scriptures’ true intent and by heeding the guidance of a qualified guru (Vasiṣṭha).
It is an honorific epithet—“tiger among the Kurus”—used by the narrator to praise and address the interlocutor in a heroic lineage.
That right action is grounded in both śāstric discernment (tattva-artha) and humility toward wise counsel, rather than mere personal impulse.
