Sandhi Resolution Notes: sarvagatiruccaiḥśravas-samaprabhaḥ = sarva-gatiḥ + uccaiḥśravas-sama-prabhaḥ; vājimedhe = vāji-medhe; śubhalakṣaṇalakṣitaḥ = śubha-lakṣaṇa-lakṣitaḥ.
Uccaiḥśravas is the divine, celestial horse famed for extraordinary splendor; comparing the sacrificial horse to him emphasizes ideal radiance and excellence.
It is a major royal Vedic horse-sacrifice associated with sovereignty and ritual legitimacy; the verse notes the required qualities of the horse used for it.
It underscores ritual discernment: important undertakings are to be performed with proper qualifications and careful selection, not casually or without standards.
