As a colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction but by framing the episode’s moral outcome: an unjust act (the cattle-raid) ends in loss of honor and forced retreat, reinforcing that adharma-driven aggression brings downfall rather than lasting gain.
This is the chapter-ending colophon stating that the sixty-sixth chapter concludes in the Virāṭa Parva, within the cattle-raid section, specifically the account of the Kauravas’ complete flight/retreat after the confrontation.
