Virāṭa’s Conciliation and Uttara’s Account of the Unseen Champion
Bṛhannadā/Arjuna
त॑ दृष्टवा परमप्रीतो गन्धर्वश्षित्रमद्भुतम् । शशंस देवराजाय चित्रसेन: प्रतापवान्
taṁ dṛṣṭvā paramaprīto gandharvaś citram adbhutam | śaśaṁsa devarājāya citrasenaḥ pratāpavān ||
その驚異にして比類なき光景を見て、ガンダルヴァのチトラセーナは大いなる歓喜に満たされた。剛勇の彼は、見届けた事どもを天帝インドラに奏上し、神々の耳目に値する出来事として報告した。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights discernment and responsibility in communication: when something truly extraordinary occurs, it is to be conveyed to the proper authority (here, Indra) with clarity and due weight, rather than being treated casually.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Gandharva Citrāsena, delighted after witnessing an astonishing event, goes on to inform Indra (the king of the gods) about it.
