वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how rightful honor and dignified conduct are expressed through symbols of kingship (the white parasol). Ethical emphasis lies in recognizing merit and maintaining decorum: greatness is not merely power, but the capacity to embody and receive honor in a manner that elevates the community’s sense of order.
The narrator describes a distinguished hero being honored with a white parasol held over his head. This ceremonial detail makes him appear radiant, compared to a mountain illuminated at sunrise, signaling his eminence and the respect accorded to him.
