Bhīṣma–Arjuna Strategic Engagement at Virāṭa’s Frontier (भीष्मार्जुनयुद्धम्)
ततः प्रववृते युद्ध पृथिव्यामेकवीरयो: । रणमध्ये द्वयोरेवं सुमहल्लोमहर्षणम्,इसके बाद उस रणभूमिमें भूमण्डलके इन दोनों अनुपम वीरोंका ऐसा भयंकर संग्राम हुआ, जो रोंगटे खड़े कर देनेवाला था
tataḥ pravavṛte yuddhaṃ pṛthivyām ekavīrayoḥ | raṇamadhye dvayor evaṃ sumahallomaharṣaṇam ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。やがてその戦場で、比類なき二人の勇士の一騎打ちが始まった。戦いのただ中で彼らの激突は、身の毛もよだつほどの大激戦へと膨れ上がり—大地さえ、その勇気と執念の力に震えたかのようであった。
