Chapter 55
संततास्तत्र मातड्भरा बाणैरल्पान्तरान्तरे । संवृतास्तेन दृश्यन्ते मेघा इव गभस्तिभि:
santatās tatra mātaṅgabharā bāṇair alpāntarāntare | saṃvṛtās tena dṛśyante meghā iva gabhastibhiḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。戦場に立つ象たちの全身は、ほとんど間を置かず矢に穿たれ続けた。矢柄に覆い尽くされたその姿は、陽光にかすむ濃雲の群れのように見えた。
