Arjuna–Karna Engagement in the Cattle-Raid Aftermath
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत विराटपर्वके अन्तर्गत गोहरणपर्वमें उत्तरगोग्रहके समय कर्णके आत्मप्रशंसापूर्ण वचनसम्बन्धी अड़तालीसवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraṁ śrīmahābhārate virāṭaparvake antargata-goharaṇaparvaṇi uttaragograha-samaye karṇasya ātmapraśaṁsā-pūrṇa-vacana-sambandhī aṣṭacatvāriṁśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ
かくして『シュリー・マハーバーラタ』ヴィラータ・パルヴァ中「ゴーハラナ（牛奪取）」章の第四十八章は終わる。北方の牛奪取の折に語られたカルナの自讃の言葉を扱う。末尾のコロフォンは、この場面を誇示に満ちた武勇の弁舌として枠づけ、衝突前夜における驕りと対抗心がいかに振る舞いを形づくるかを示している。
