Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 25: Kaurava Deliberation and the Search Directive (अन्वेषण-आदेशः)
संविधाय यथादृष्टं यथादेशप्रदर्शनम् । कृतकृत्या न्यवर्तन्त ते चरा नगरं प्रति,इधर अज्ञातवासकी अवस्थामें पाण्डवोंका पता लगानेके लिये दुर्योधनने जो बाहरके देशोंमें घूमनेवाले गुप्तचर लगा रखे थे, वे अनेक ग्राम, राष्ट्र और नगरोंमें उन्हें दूँढ़कर, जैसा वे देख सकते या पता लगा सकते थे अथवा जिन-जिन देशोंमें छान-बीन कर सकते थे, उन सबमें उसी प्रकार देखभाल करके अपना काम पूरा करके पुनः हस्तिनापुरमें लौट आये
saṃvidhāya yathādṛṣṭaṃ yathādeśapradarśanam | kṛtakṛtyā nyavartanta te carā nagaraṃ prati ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。彼らは見聞したとおり、また命じられたとおりに事を整え、見たことと確かめ得たことを報告できるようにして、任を終えるや都へと引き返した。パーンダヴァが身分を隠して暮らすその時、ドゥルヨーダナが外境に配したこの密偵たちは、多くの村・国・町を探り、ハスティナープラへ戻って奏上したのである。
