Adharma’s Short-Lived Prosperity and the Restorative Path of Tīrtha (लोमश–युधिष्ठिर संवादः)

Educational Q&A

A king’s dharma includes pilgrimage and generous giving—especially go-dāna—and such religious-ethical duties should be undertaken wholeheartedly (sarvātmanā), not half-heartedly.

Lomaśa reports to Yudhiṣṭhira what Arjuna previously told him: that Yudhiṣṭhira should pursue a tīrtha-yātrā and perform cow-gifts there, committing himself fully to this course of action.
