पितामहसरो गत्वा शैलराजसमीपत: । तत्राभिषेकं कुर्वाणो हाग्निष्टोममवाप्रुयात्,गिरिराज हिमालयके निकट पितामहसरोवरमें जाकर स्नान करनेवाले पुरुषको अग्निष्टोमयज्ञका फल मिलता है
pitāmaha-saraḥ gatvā śaila-rāja-samīpataḥ | tatrābhiṣekaṃ kurvāṇo hy agniṣṭomam avāpnuyāt ||
グーラスタヤは言った。「山の王(ヒマーラヤ)の近くにある、ピターマハ・サラスと呼ばれる聖なる湖へ赴き、そこで儀礼の沐浴を行う者は、アグニシュトーマ祭に等しい功徳を得る。」この一節は『マハーバーラタ』の倫理を示す。すなわち、尊ばれるティールタでの真摯な巡礼と浄めは大いなる霊的果報をもたらし、虚飾ではなく、規律と信を伴う行いへと人を促すのである。
