दमयन्ती-शपथः वायोः साक्ष्यं च
Damayantī’s Oath and Vāyu’s Testimony
यच्चान्यदपि पश्येथास्तच्चाख्येयं त्वया मम । “बाहुकके इन सब चरित्रोंकी समीक्षा करके फिर मुझे सब बात बताना। बाहुकमें यदि तुम्हें कोई दिव्य अथवा मानवोचित विशेषता दिखायी दे तथा और भी जो कोई विशेषता दृष्टिगोचर हो तो उसपर भी दृष्टि रखना और मुझे आकर बताना'
yaccānyad api paśyethās taccākhyeyaṃ tvayā mama |
ブリハダシュヴァは言った。「ほかに何を見聞きしても、それもまた私に報告せねばならぬ。バーフカの行いと気質をことごとく慎重に見定め、すべてを語りに来なさい。もしバーフカに、神々のごとき非凡さ、あるいは人として卓越した資質、また他の際立つ徴が見えたなら、それを見落とさず心に留め、戻って告げよ。」
