Damayantī’s Recognition by the Piplū Mark and Her Return to Vidarbha
अनेन वाससाच्छन्न: स्वं रूप॑ प्रतिपत्स्यसे । इत्युक्त्वा प्रददौ तस्मै दिव्यं वासोयुगं तदा,“इस वस्त्रसे आच्छादित होते ही आप अपना पहला रूप प्राप्त कर लेंगे।! ऐसा कहकर नागने उन्हें दो दिव्य वस्त्र प्रदान किये
anena vāsasācchannaḥ svaṃ rūpaṃ pratipatsyase | ity uktvā pradadau tasmai divyaṃ vāsoyugaṃ tadā |
ブリハダシュヴァは言った。「この衣で身を覆えば、汝は自らの旧き姿を取り戻す。」そう言い終えると、彼はその者に神妙なる衣の一対を授けた。
ब॒हदश्व उवाच
Divine gifts and extraordinary means are meant to restore rightful order and support dharma—here, the recovery of one’s true identity—rather than to serve pride or deception for selfish ends.
Bṛhadaśva declares that by wearing the given clothing the recipient will recover his former appearance, and he then hands over a divine pair of garments as the practical means for that restoration.
