यन्न मोहान्न कार्पण्यान्न लोभान्न भयादपि । अनृतं किंचिदुक्त ते न कामान्नार्थकारणात्,“उनका कहना है कि आपने कभी न तो मोहसे, न दीनतासे, न लोभसे, न भयसे, न कामनासे और न धनके ही कारणसे किंचिन्मात्र भी असत्य भाषण किया है
yan na mohān na kārpaṇyān na lobhān na bhayād api | anṛtaṃ kiñcid uktaṃ te na kāmān nārtha-kāraṇāt ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「彼らはこう断言する。そなたは、たとえ微塵の虚言すら口にしたことがない——迷妄ゆえでもなく、臆し心ゆえでもなく、貪りゆえでもなく、恐れゆえですらない。欲望のためでも、いかなる財利のためでもない。」
