अपेयात् किल भा: सूर्याल्लक्ष्मीश्वन्द्रमसस्तथा । इति लोको व्यवसितो दृष्टवेमां भवतो व्यथाम्,“आपपर जो यह संकट आया है, इस असम्भव-सी घटनाको देखकर लोग यह निश्चयपूर्वक मानने लगे हैं कि सूर्यसे उसकी प्रभा और चन्द्रमासे उसकी चाँदनी भी दूर हो सकती है
apeyāt kila bhāḥ sūryāl lakṣmīś candramasas tathā | iti loko vyavasito dṛṣṭvemāṁ bhavato vyathām ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「まるで太陽の輝きが去り、月の美と光さえ奪われ得るかのようだ。汝のこの苦悩を見て、人々は固く悟った——不可能と思えることすら起こり得るのだと。」
