धर्म पूर्वे धनं मध्ये जघन्ये काममाचरेत्‌ । अहन्यनुचरेदेवमेष शास्त्रकृतो विधि:

Transliteration

dharmaṁ pūrve dhanaṁ madhye jaghanye kāmam ācaret | ahany anucared evam eṣa śāstrakṛto vidhiḥ ||

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「まずダルマを修め、中ほどの時期には財（アルタ）を求め、末の時期には欲（カーマ）に心を配るべきである。日々このように身を処するのがよい—これがシャーストラの定めた規則である。」
