तांश्वैवानय भद्ठरें ते पानीयं च त्वमानय । तब कुन्तीकुमार युधिष्ठिरने भीमसेनसे कहा--“परंतप! भरतनन्दन! नकुल, सहदेव और अर्जुनको पानीके लिये गये बहुत देर हो गयी। वे अभीतक नहीं आ रहे हैं। तुम्हारा कल्याण हो। तुम जाकर उन्हें बुला लाओ और पानी भी ले आओ” ।। ३३-३४ $ ।। भीमसेनस्तथेत्युक्त्वा त॑ देशं प्रत्यपद्यत
yakṣa uvāca | tāṁś caivānaya bhadraṁ te pānīyaṁ ca tvam ānaya | bhīmasenas tathety uktvā taṁ deśaṁ pratyapadyata |
ヤクシャは言った。「彼らをここへ連れて来い。汝に吉祥あれ。さらに汝自身も水を持ち帰れ。」そう命じられたビーマセーナは「承知した」と答え、その場所へ向かった。物語の流れでは、ユディシュティラはナクラ、サハデーヴァ、そしてアルジュナが水を求めて久しく戻らぬことを案じ、ビーマに彼らを呼び戻し水を取って来るよう遣わす。苦難の中にあっても仲間を思い、責を負う王者の心がここに示される。
