पुरा मातुः पितुर्वापि यदि पश्यामि विप्रियम् । न जीविष्ये वरारोहे सत्येनात्मानमालभे,वरारोहे! मैं सत्यकी शपथ खाकर अपना शरीर छूकर कहता हूँ, यदि मैं माता अथवा पिताका अप्रिय देखूँगा तो जीवित नहीं रहूँगा
purā mātuḥ pitur vāpi yadi paśyāmi vipriyam | na jīviṣye varārohe satyenātmānam ālabhe ||
マーールカンデーヤは言った。「昔、麗しき腰の女よ、私は真実にかけて誓い、自らの身に触れて証とし、『もし母または父の心に不快をもたらすものを見たなら、私は生き永らえぬ』と言ったのだ。」
