Educational Q&A

Righteous perseverance is supported: when a ruler committed to dharma faces adversity, divine assistance may come in the form of basic sustenance, enabling ethical living and hospitality without compromising principles.

The Sun-god Vivasvān grants assurance that the petitioner’s wishes will be fulfilled and specifically promises a continuing supply of food for twelve years, addressing the practical hardship of sustaining the Pāṇḍavas during their forest exile.
