Sūrya-stava: Dhaumya’s Counsel and the Aṣṭaśata-nāma of Sūrya
विवस्वानुवाच यत् तेडभिलषितं किंचित् तत् त्वं सर्वमवाप्स्यसि | अहमन्न प्रदास्यामि सप्त पठच च ते समा:,भगवान् सूर्य बोले--धर्मराज! तुम जो कुछ चाहते हो, वह सब तुम्हें प्राप्त होगा। मैं बारह वर्षोतक तुम्हें अन्न प्रदान करूँगा
Vivasvān uvāca: yat te ’bhilaṣitaṃ kiñcit tat tvaṃ sarvam avāpsyasi | aham annaṃ pradāsyāmi sapta pañca ca te samāḥ ||
太陽神ヴィヴァスヴァーンは言った。「ダルマラージャよ、汝がいかに望んだものも、すべて得るであろう。われは十二年のあいだ、汝に食を授けよう。」
वैशमग्पायन उवाच
Righteous perseverance is supported: when a ruler committed to dharma faces adversity, divine assistance may come in the form of basic sustenance, enabling ethical living and hospitality without compromising principles.
The Sun-god Vivasvān grants assurance that the petitioner’s wishes will be fulfilled and specifically promises a continuing supply of food for twelve years, addressing the practical hardship of sustaining the Pāṇḍavas during their forest exile.
