राजोवाच अपीदानीं स तेजस्वी बुद्धिमान्‌ वा नृपात्मज: । क्षमावानपि वा शूर: सत्यवान्‌ पितृवत्सल:,राजाने पूछा--देवर्ष! इस समय पितृभक्त राजकुमार सत्यवान्‌ तेजस्वी, बुद्धिमान, क्षमावान्‌ और शूरवीर तो है न?

rājovāca: apīdānīṃ sa tejasvī buddhimān vā nṛpātmajaḥ | kṣamāvān api vā śūraḥ satyavān pitṛvatsalaḥ ||

王は問うた。「おお、神なる仙人よ。父に孝を尽くす王子サティヤヴァーンは、今なお真に輝き、見識に富み、忍耐深くも勇猛で、真実を守り、父に尽くしているのか。」
