कि ते साहां मया कार्य करिष्याम्यवशो5पि तत्‌ | तदनन्तर उसने राक्षसराज रावणसे कहा--'अच्छा; बताओ, मुझे तुम्हारी क्‍या सहायता करनी होगी? इच्छा, न होनेपर भी मैं विवश होकर उसे करूँगा”

kiṁ te sāhāyyaṁ mayā kāryaṁ kariṣyāmy avaśo ’pi tat |

マールカンデーヤは言った。「そなたにどのような助けをせねばならぬのか。たとえ望まぬことでも、なお強いられて成し遂げねばならぬ。」そして羅刹王ラーヴァナに向かい、求める助力を明らかに述べよと促した。
