Indrajit and Lakṣmaṇa: Escalation through Concealment
द्रौोपदीमनुशोचद्धि्राह्मणैस्तै:ः समाहितैः । समियाय महाप्राज्ञ: सभार्यो भ्रातृमध्यग:,वे सब ब्राह्मण एकाग्रचित्त हो द्रौपदीके लिये ही बार-बार शोक कर रहे थे। इतनेमें ही पत्नीसहित परम बुद्धिमान् युधिष्ठिर अपने भाई नकुल और सहदेवके बीचमें होकर चलते हुए वहाँ आ पहुँचे
Draupadīm anuśocad dhi brāhmaṇais taiḥ samāhitaiḥ | samiyāya mahāprājñaḥ sabhāryo bhrātṛ-madhyagaḥ ||
心を一つに定めたバラモンたちは、ドラウパディーのために幾度も嘆き悲しんでいた。まさにその時、深い叡智を備えたユディシュティラが、妻を伴い、兄弟に囲まれて歩み来たり、ナクーラとサハデーヴァの間に位置してそこへ到着した。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic sensitivity: the learned community (brāhmaṇas) responds with focused compassion to Draupadī’s suffering, and the righteous king Yudhiṣṭhira arrives with familial solidarity—suggesting that moral order is upheld through both empathetic witness and responsible leadership.
Brāhmaṇas, gathered with concentrated minds, are repeatedly grieving for Draupadī. At that moment Yudhiṣṭhira reaches the place with Draupadī, moving among his brothers, specifically between Nakula and Sahadeva.
