रावण–मारीचसंवादः तथा मृगप्रलोभनपूर्वकं सीताहरणोपक्रमः

उपरिष्टादसौ लोको यो<यं स्वरिति संज्ञित: । ऊर्ध्वग: सत्पथ: शश्वद् देवयानचरो मुने,मुने! जिसे स्वर्लोक कहते हैं, वह यहाँसे बहुत ऊपर है। वहाँ पहुँचनेके लिये ऊपरको जाया जाता है, इसलिये उसका एक नाम ऊर्ध्वग भी है। वहाँ जानेके लिये जो मार्ग है, वह बहुत उत्तम है। वहाँके लोग सदा विमानोंपर विचरा करते हैं
upariṣṭād asau loko yo 'yaṃ svar iti saṃjñitaḥ | ūrdhvagaḥ satpathaḥ śaśvad devayānacaro mune ||
「この世の上方には、スヴァルガと呼ばれる界がある。そこへは上昇して至るゆえ、また『ウールドゥヴァガ（上へ行くもの）』とも称される。そこへ通ずる道は常にサトパタ（善き道）という高貴な路である。仙よ、彼の住人は功徳の果を享受しつつ、天のヴィマーナに乗って絶えず往来する。」
