अन्यायात् समुपात्तेन दानधर्मो धनेन यः । क्रियते न स कर्तरिं त्रायते महतो भयात्,अन्यायसे प्राप्त किये हुए धनके द्वारा जो दानधर्म किया जाता है वह कर्ताकी महान् भयसे रक्षा नहीं कर पाता
anyāyāt samupāttena dānadharmo dhanena yaḥ | kriyate na sa kartāraṃ trāyate mahato bhayāt ||
ヴィヤーサは言った。「不正によって得た財で行う布施やその他のダルマの行いは、行う者を大いなる恐れから救わない。非道な手段で道徳の目的は成就しない。穢れた財は、施す者の真の拠り所とはなり得ぬ。」
व्यास उवाच
Acts of charity (dāna) gain protective merit only when supported by righteous means. Wealth obtained through injustice contaminates the act, so the giver is not safeguarded from grave fear or consequences.
In Vyāsa’s instruction within the Vana Parva discourse, he states a moral principle: dharmic acts performed using unrighteously acquired wealth fail to provide the intended spiritual or protective benefit to the performer.
