इदं तु वचन पार्थ शृणुष्व गदतो मम । भ्रातृभि: सह कौन्तेय यत् त्वां वक्ष्यामि कौरव,“कुन्तीनन्दन! कुरुश्रेष्ठ भाइयोंसहित तुमसे मैं जो एक बात कह रहा हूँ, इसे ध्यान देकर सुनो
idaṃ tu vacanaṃ pārtha śṛṇuṣva gadato mama | bhrātṛbhiḥ saha kaunteya yat tvāṃ vakṣyāmi kaurava ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「おおパールタよ、わたしが語るこの言葉を心して聞け。おおクンティーの子よ、兄弟たちとともに、わたしが今から告げることを聞くがよい。おおクル族の末裔よ。」
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse foregrounds the ethical discipline of attentive listening to counsel, especially when guidance concerns collective responsibility—here, the addressee is urged to hear an important instruction together with his brothers, implying unity in decision-making.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana introduces a forthcoming message directed to Pārtha (Arjuna), addressing him with honorific epithets and explicitly including his brothers, signaling that a significant piece of advice or information is about to be delivered.
