Report of Draupadī’s Abduction and the Pāṇḍavas’ Pursuit
gaccha vīra na te buddhir anyā kāryā kathaṃcana | tvam asmākaṃ gatir nityaṃ devatānāṃ ca pāṇḍavāḥ ||
Steadfastness in righteous resolve: the hero is urged not to waver or consider alternative plans, because his firm leadership is portrayed as the community’s constant refuge, with even the gods depending on the Pāṇḍavas’ protection.
Vaiśampāyana, as narrator, reports an exhortation to a heroic figure to proceed without hesitation. The statement frames the Pāṇḍavas as a divinely significant support-system—protectors relied upon by the gods—and identifies the addressed hero as the enduring ‘gati’ (ultimate recourse) for the speaker’s side.
