द्रौपदी-शैब्यसंवादः — Draupadī’s Identification and Counsel on Hospitality
इह प्रायमुपासिष्ये यूयं व्रजत वै गृहान् । नरश्रेष्ठ वीरो! अब मैंने जो निश्चय किया है, उसे सुनो। मैं यहाँ आमरण अनशन करूँगा। तुम सब लोग घर लौट जाओ
iha prāyam upāsiṣye yūyaṁ vrajata vai gṛhān |
ドゥルヨーダナは過激な決意を宣言した。「ここでプラーヨーパヴェーシャ（死に至る断食）を行う。お前たちは家へ帰れ。」物語上これは、自己加害を梃子にして従わせようとする強圧的な“道徳の構え”であり、決意を誇示して劇的に見せる一方で、沈着な諫言と君主としての責任をすり抜けている。
