The verse presents disciplined, consistent service as an ethical form of influence: winning trust and harmony not through force or manipulation, but through daily self-restraint, responsibility, and devotion within household duty.
In Vaishampayana’s narration, a woman addresses Satya, describing her daily conduct—rising before all and sleeping after all—as the practical basis of her pativratā devotion and the way she maintains concord and influence in her marital life.
