Educational Q&A

Right conduct and steadfastness on the righteous path are linked with correct ritual practice: offerings are to be made with the proper invocation (‘Svāhā’), which sustains the sacred presence of Agni and preserves the order of sacrifice.

Skanda addresses ‘Śobhane’ and declares a change from this day: virtuous people will offer oblations using the formula ‘Svāhā’. As a result, Agni will continually remain in companionship with her—affirming her ritual role and Agni’s ongoing presence in sacrificial acts.
