Duryodhana Seized by Citraseṇa; Kaurava Petition to Yudhiṣṭhira (दुर्योधनापहारः / चित्रसेनगन्धर्वग्रहणम्)
ahaṃ ca vaḥ pradāsyāmi raudram ātmānam avyayam | paramaṃ tena sahitāḥ sukhaṃ vatsyatha pūjitāḥ ||
The verse emphasizes divine grace as a moral assurance: when beings are honored and aligned with a higher, steadfast power (an imperishable, ‘raudra’ aspect of the divine), they attain stable well-being. It also highlights the ethical value of reverence (pūjā) and right association (sahita) as conditions for lasting happiness.
Skanda speaks as a benefactor, promising to bestow an imperishable, formidable being—described as his own essential form. He assures the recipients that, by remaining united with this granted presence and being duly honored, they will live in supreme happiness.
