iti śrīmahābhārate vanaparvaṇi mārkaṇḍeyasamāsyāparvaṇi brāhmaṇa-vyādha-saṃvāde ṣoḍaśādhika-dviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ

かくして『シュリー・マハーバーラタ』の「ヴァナ・パルヴァ」において——マールカンデーヤ（Mārkaṇḍeya）に結びつく教えを要約する章段のうち——婆羅門と狩人の対話たる第216章は終わる。この奥書は章の閉幕を示し、物語を通してダルマの倫理的教訓を伝えるものとして本談義を位置づける。
