Dharma-vyādha on Parental Worship
Pitṛ-mātṛ-śuśrūṣā as Paramadaivata
एवं महाबलो दैत्यो न श्रुतो मे तपोधन,तपस्याके धनी मुनीश्वर! ऐसा महाबली दैत्य तो मैंने कभी नहीं सुना था, अतः: भगवन्! मैं इसके विषयमें यथार्थ बातें जानना चाहता हूँ। महामते! आप यह सारी कथा विस्तारपूर्वक बताइये
evaṁ mahābalo daityo na śruto me tapodhana, tapasyāke dhanī munīśvara! etādṛśaḥ mahābalī daityo mayā kadācid api na śrutaḥ; ataḥ bhagavan, asya viṣaye yathārtha-vārtāḥ jñātum icchāmi. mahāmate, iyam sarvā kathā vistara-pūrvakaṁ vada.
ユディシュティラは言った。「苦行の宝よ、これほどの大力を持つダイティヤなど、私はいまだ聞いたことがない。仙人たちの主、苦行の威力に富む御方よ——まことに驚くべきことだ。ゆえに尊者よ、彼についての真実を知りたい。大いなる智慧の聖者よ、この物語のすべてを詳しく語ってください。」
युधिषछ्िर उवाच
The verse highlights a dharmic posture of truth-seeking: even when confronted with astonishing power, Yudhiṣṭhira does not jump to judgment but requests an accurate, detailed account from a qualified sage, honoring tapas and reliable testimony.
Yudhiṣṭhira, hearing of an extraordinarily powerful Daitya, expresses that he has never encountered such a report before and respectfully asks the sage (addressed as tapodhana and munīśvara) to narrate the full story in detail so he may understand the facts.
